ビール(2)

　さて、ビールといえば「アサヒのスーパードライ！」という方も多いと思いますが、一定以上の年齢を重ねた人たちにとって、アサヒビールという会社は、ドライ発売前と発売後ではまったく違う会社になってしまったような印象があるでしょう。事実私もそうで、ドライ発売前のアサヒビールはほとんど飲んだことがありません。旅館の宴会場で「訳もわからずただひたすら飲む！」ためのビールで、白っぽいラベルに朝日の赤い絵が描いてあるビール瓶が、なんともさえない雰囲気を醸し出していたものです（でも宴会場にはよく似合っていた）。

　しかしドライ発売後は皆さんご存知の快進撃！ドライ戦争を仕掛けたビール業界のガリバーであるキリン（当時のシェアーは約60%）を退け、数年後にはついにキリンを追い抜き逆転！念願のビール業界のトップに立ち現在に至っています。スーパードライの開発について私は多くを知りませんが、プロジェクトXの日清カップヌードルのように、いつか明らかにしてもらいたいものです。いろいろなエピソードがあればなおうれし。

　「赤い朝日の瓶ビールからシルバーラベルのAsahiへ！」そんな一発逆転の商品であることが、なぜか人を惹き付ける魅力なのかもしれませんね。私自身はスーパードライはあまり飲みませんが...。でも今でも宴会場によく似合っているのはなんとうれしいものです。

私はスーパードライ派です。そ・れ・に・スーパーかいじさんの思い出深いアサヒのビールは知りません。いったいどんな宴会だったのだろう・・・。なんとなく想像してみました（笑）

　サントリービールはすごいよね。赤字続きのビール事業を絶対やめなかった、そしてここにきてようやく黒字に転換させた。本業のウィスキー事業が黒字だからといえ、そのおごらない経営姿勢に脱帽です。
